Mastering the World-Wide Web

Spring `96 Reading Assignment #17

Read How Java Differs from C online from the Java in a Nutshell book for Mon 15 Apr. This web page presents a nice summary of characteristics that are particular to the Java language, to supplement and reinforce what's been presented in class. Though it does this primarily by contrast to C (which about 3/4 of the class seems acquainted with), it's mostly generalizable to contrast with most other programming languages, too.

I expect this to be the last assigned reading on Java. Students wishing to explore further are encouraged to investigate the other Java links on the course resources page.
